The membership process for joining a L.A.M.A. chapter is straightforward, welcoming, and built around getting to know the chapter the right way.
You can ride any brand of motorcycle as long as it is 650cc or higher. More than anything, we are looking for people who respect the brotherhood, value inclusiveness, and want to be part of the family.
Get in touch through the contact form, Facebook, Instagram, or by introducing yourself when you see us out on the road. We will invite you to a ride or meeting so you can meet the chapter, ask questions, and see what L.A.M.A. Austin is all about.
Your first step is simply connecting with us. We want the process to feel approachable, so do not hesitate to reach out or walk up and say hello.
We will invite you to join a ride or attend a meeting so you can spend time with members, understand our culture, and decide whether the chapter is the right fit.
If you want to move forward, you will complete a membership application and submit your initial membership fee, which covers your yearly international dues and your initial patches.
Membership progresses through clearly defined stages. Each phase gives the chapter time to get to know you and gives you time to experience what L.A.M.A. membership means.
The international patch is issued to all associate and international members of L.A.M.A. A rocker is added for each subsequent year of membership, along with country and state identification patches.
The Prospect patch is issued to anyone pursuing full membership in a national or international chapter. Prospect members wear the patch for a minimum of three months before they are eligible to be voted into Probate status.
The L.A.M.A. rockers are added to the Prospect patch to create the Probate set. After at least three months in Probate status, the member becomes eligible to be voted in as a Full Member.
Full Colors are awarded in a ceremonial fashion to Probate members who successfully complete the full probation period and earn full membership in the chapter.
The Damas de L.A.M.A. patch is awarded to our female members who ride their own motorcycle and represent the same pride, endurance, and commitment to the road.
If you are interested in joining, the best next step is to reach out and ride with us. We are happy to answer questions, explain the process, and help you learn what membership looks like in real life.
